Hello Gallivanters!
It is officially my favorite time of year again.
New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite holidays because it can feel so transformative.
First and foremost, I think the best way to start a new year is to positively reflect on the previous year’s accomplishments.
This year, I took my first solo trip, struggled to finish 25 books (one of my resolutions), and grew the blog.
Even if all you did in 2024 was get through it, I am proud of you!
Now is the time to lift your head, and look ahead to 2025.
As I’ve said before, you don’t need to wait until January 1st to begin a new habit but New Year’s Eve may just give you the inspiration to do so!
I think New Year’s Resolutions can be as fun as they are daunting, especially if you didn’t achieve what you had set out to do.
Life happens and the year 2024 wasn’t an easy one.
Something new I am going to be implementing in 2025 is reframing my “resolutions” into S.M.A.R.T goals or just things a few things that I am aspiring to do – not even necessarily complete in 2025.
I’m not suggesting setting arbitrary goals without any follow-through, but try out setting S.M.A.R.T. goals – and maybe try setting just one or two.
You can choose to share your goals with others in order to be held accountable, or keep them private if you don’t want to be influenced by other’s opinions.
I have shared some of my personal goals with a few of my friends who I know will support me and encourage me all of 2025.
Whatever you decide to set your sights on, I wish you the best of luck and I’d love to hear what you are aspiring to achieve in 2025!
Happy New Year!
-Allison
