A Day In New York City

Welcome back Gallivanters!

This may have just been my best trip yet…

Big talk I know, but this itinerary was jammed packed and I still left out so, so many incredible places. Just an excuse to go back I guess!

So, to the city that never sleeps. The Big Apple.

Welcome to A Day in New York City!

Ralph’s Coffee

We have a long, exciting day ahead, so we’re going to have to start with coffee and pastries.

Ralph’s Coffee by Ralph Lauren is so quintessentially New York.

They have several in store locations around New York, but see if you can catch Ralph’s Coffee truck!

Central Park

With trench coat tied tightly around you and a Ralph’s coffee cup in hand, you are ready for a stroll through Central Park.

I’d recommend starting semi-early in the day so that you can give yourself time to linger and enjoy the morning.

Check out some of the unique dedicated benches in the park, maybe even have a seat for the chance to listen to local musicians or even just snippets of passerbyers conversation.

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMa)

Now it’s time to get controversial.

There are so many wonderful museums dedicated to history, art and science in New York that you could spend a whole day or several days in.

If you were to ask me, the best one to explore on a day in New York like this one, is the Museum of Modern Art.

Check out the works of Monet, Klimt, and Van Gogh all under one roof.

Stand in line for a glimpse of Van Gogh’s Starry Night, or come find me sitting with Claude Monet’s Water Lillies.

The Rockefeller Center – Top of the Rock Observatory

What is a day in NYC without taking in spectacular views from one of its observation decks?

The Top of the Rock Observatory located in the Rockefeller center is just one of several infamous observation decks with incredible views of the city.

Why this one? Besides the decent pricing, and 360 degree view of the cities most iconic landmarks like Central Park and the Empire State Building, Top of the Rock also has some in-queue entertainment complete with letting guests experience snowfall in New York – any time of the year!

Planta Queen – 15 W 27th Street, New York, NY 10001

Calling all vegan, vegetarian, gluten free peeps and fellow foodies.

Plants Queen right off of 5th avenue offers a complete vegan/vegetarian friendly menu that imitates dishes typically not available for modification.

Get the Bang-Bang Broccoli, in fact get anything and everything on the menu and thank me later.

Broadway

Don’t think your day is about to start winding down, we haven’t even been to Broadway yet!

Catching a play or musical on Broadway is simply a can’t miss item on your itinerary while in the city.

My friends and I absolutely loved The Great Gatsby, but Wicked, Hamilton, Aladdin and Lion King I’ve heard are also incredible.

Times Square

Chasing the thrill of seeing a show on Broadway is incredibly difficult.

I’d suggest keep the energy high by finally hitting Times Square.

Going at night can definitely help avoid crowds and scammers, and looks incredible lit up at night.

Pizza – By the Slice

A trip to New York isn’t complete without obtaining a greasy, cheesy, single slice of pizza while standing near the busy streets and blinding lights.

I don’t have one single recommendation for where to go, because I have to assume that there’s no such thing as a bad slice of pizza, especially in New York.

Marie’s Crisis Cafe

Still not enough show-tunes for you?

Make your way down to Marie’s Crisis Cafe/ Piano Bar.

Bring your best energy, some cash and get ready to sing-a-long to your favorite musical theater numbers with a live pianist to back you up.

Levian Bakery

There is only one way to end your day in New York: dessert.

There is no dessert more iconic than Levian Bakery’s chocolate chip and walnut cookie.

It’s hockey puck sized, and doughy in the middle, and to me…oh so perfect.

Well folks, thanks for checking out the blog!

I had the absolute best time in New York and feel so blessed to be able to travel as far and as frequently as I do.

Til the next adventure,
