Welcome back Gallivanters!
It’s that time again, as we prepare for 2026 and say goodbye to 2025.
Just like every year, I like to reflect on what the year 2025 brought into my life.
I lounged on beaches in Puerto Rico, watched a show on Broadway in New York City, got my own apartment, and completed most of my resolutions from last year!
I believe that New Year’s Resolutions can be a good thing to inspire and motivate you throughout the year, if you make them wisely and within reason.
So today, I wanted to share 6 unique ideas for goals to inspire you as we head into 2026!
Track A Months Worth of Spending
Personally, this is a new goal I am setting for myself for 2026!
I am planning on saving for some unique trips I have coming up, and I can’t figure out how much to save unless I know where my money is going now.
There are so many great budgeting templates out there right now, but I made my own on excel so I can have automated totals using the build in formulas when I add my spending. It is actually kind of fun!
Read 1 Book a Month
Reading 1 book a month will add up to 12 books in a year!
I have several blog posts recommending books to read to get your life together as well as short books to help meet your reading goal.
Don’t worry, the short ones count too!
Travel to a New Place
Whether your goal is to travel abroad or just check out the next town over, traveling to a new place is a great goal for 2026.
Check out any one of my A Day In.. posts for ideas, or take my travel quiz if you can’t decide!
Once you decide on a location, you can check out Viator for deals on different activities and tours.
Try a New Hobby
2026 is the year of side quests, and simply getting out of your comfort zone.
If you are looking for other activities to start after binge-watching the Stranger Things finale, try a new hobby!
You can check out my other posts on hobbies for after work or ways to volunteer!
Take a Free Online Course
If you already have a special interest you want to hone in on, you can try to get a certificate through a free online course.

I really enjoyed a European Art History course I took on EdX – completely free since I just audited the class.
Start a ScrapBook
Something I’ve seen trending lately are junk journals, they seem to be scrapbooks made up on the random papers, tickets and posters we accumulate throughout our days.
I think either this or making a traditional scrapbook would be a fun project to start in 2026.
Well, that’s all folks!
Thank you so much for checking out the blog and for spending another year with me.
I’ll see you in 2026!
